DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

Q: What qualities or characteristics do you think a “warrior” needs? Do you

have any of them?

Q: How do the Scriptures/concepts from this week help you grow as a disciple

who loves God, loves people & serves the world (lives on incarnational

mission) in everyday life?

Q: Based on these Scriptures, how can you move from unbelief to belief, from

just knowing to actually doing in your life?

Q: Reading 2 Samuel 8 & 10 can be pretty rough because of the amount of

death. How can studying the context of David’s time, as well as God’s desire

to get rid of evil in the world help us understand it better?

Q: The story of David’s compassion & mercy to Mephibosheth in 2 Samuel 9 is

most likely sandwiched between the violence of chapters 8 & 10 on purpose.

Why do you think this is? How does it point to the larger promise God gave

David that points to the True Savior & Messiah, Jesus?

Q: David’s act of mercy towards Mephibosheth is even more remarkable

considering both the shame that Mephibosheth had been living in and the

potential risk for David. Are there any situations where God is calling you to

extend radical & sacrificial mercy towards?

Q: How do you see Jesus showing sacrificial mercy throughout the Gospels, in

your life & the world around you?
